PROCESS OF DEATH :
When we observe a dying person, it is the body that becomes weak and loosened and the dying person comes to a state of unconsciousness.
Just like a caterpillar or a leech takes hold of another object, such as a grass or straw before it leaves its hold of the object on which it rests this individual soul having the vision of the future body to be taken, even before it leaves the present one, moves out into the new body. The self throws the present body down. The body becomes unconscious like an inert log of wood, because the former identification has been given up. The self now catches hold of another support and it creates another body according to its previous impressions and identifies with it.
This very individual self is the supreme self, which identifies with the intellect, with the mind, with the vital force, with the eyes, with the ears, with the earth, with water, air, ether, fire, non-fire, with desire, with desirelessness, with anger, with absence of anger, with righteousness, with unrighteousness, with everything.
Finally, all the desires of the person rest and subsist in seed form in his heart forming the cause for continuing life in this world or in the other worlds.
A man's most intense desire determines the next birth. If there is no desire, there will be no more rebirth and hence no more suffering and death.
Who has no desire or who is desireless, or who is free from desire or whose desires have been fulfilled or who is desirous of the supreme, his organs do not depart. He being the supreme alone attains the supreme.
In the entire cosmic scheme the individual mind is important for a man to understand the Universe in the entirety. It serves as the mirror into which the higher truth reflects and comes into the understanding of man. The entire external world received from the other side into the same mirror and the knowledge of all the objects take place in the mind and its reflection is the objective knowledge.
If 'X' be the external object on one side and 'Y ' is the higher truth on the other side and if mind is represented by 'A', 'X + A' is the knowledge of the outside world, similarly, 'Y +A' is the knowledge of the higher truth as assimilated by the human mind.
Like a fisherman, man throws the net of thought on the infinite Universe with the hope to get the best catch of fish like desires. Despite his failures and reverses, he continues his effort with increasing hope till the end of life. He is conscious of his failure and the grand exit staring into his face. Still the hope and the effort continues in the astral body, which is the cause for the rebirth. Ye, therefore, withdraw the empty net back to resolve in the mind and then catch the path to the infinite, the Supreme Truth.
Truth is truth; requiring oft repetition. Common experience is that real appears as unreal and unreal as real, as, the Sun appears travelling from dawn to dusk everyday while it is the earth that moves truly, with a set velocity. Seated for a moment undejected observe the drama of life. Reflect on the Supreme the blissful conscious state, all the time, surely you will cross the ocean of life.
Life starts not from the birth of this body, but from the seed, the uncaused cause. Life, therefore, is divisible into two parts. One up to the mind from the seed, the second from the mind towards the visible external world.
